About Mershon Auditorium and the Wexner Center for the Arts
Built in 1957 and operated by the Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University since 1989, Mershon Auditorium is a premier venue for a wide array of events and entertainment. With a seating capacity of over 2590, Mershon hosts Wexner Center performances, Ohio State activities, and concerts, comedians, and national touring productions exclusively booked by Columbus Arena Sports & Entertainment (CASE). The auditorium is renowned for its precise acoustics, spacious seating, and excellent sightlines, ensuring every seat offers an optimal viewing experience.
The Wexner Center for the Arts is devoted to supporting the creation of new works of art and presenting exhibitions, performing arts, film/video, and learning programs featuring artists and scholars from around the world. Housed in the first major public commission by architect Peter Eisenman, the Wex’s iconic building reflects the center’s ambitions to reimagine what a contemporary cultural space could be.
